University of Michigan Offers Best Nursing Degree

When its comes to offering best value Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree Programs, the University of Michigan ranks first among universities across the nation.

The university’s BSN, Minor in Global Public Health, designed as an interdisciplinary education in nursing science for highly motivated students, has been ranked the best in the country by the Value Colleges website for 2019.

“Students are expected to be highly motivated and high achieving, benefitting from current faculty research and a low student:faculty ratio intended for close mentorship,” the ranking report reads. “Students in the BSN program can also minor in Population Health in a Global Context, as well as taking opportunities for international travel and study.”

The University of Washington’s nursing degree program ranked second. As part of the program, students build upon skills taught in the university’s learning lab and take part in 1,000 hours of hands-on training at local community partner sites.

“The American Nurses Association has long advocated for the BSN as the minimum standard for nurses, and employers are beginning to listen,” a value college editor said.

“With a good residential BSN or MSN program, nurses can feel assured that they’re not just getting a solid degree, but a real value that will show a return on the investment of time, money, and energy.”

The website took affordability, return on investment and reputation into account as factors to rank the universities.
