New York University Launches Online MicroMasters in Digital Media

New York University is partnering with edX.org, an online learning platform to offer a new MicroMasters program in Integrated Digital Media (IDM).

Announced by the Tandon School of Engineering on Wednesday, the four-course program, which includes a capstone project, will be offered at an affordable rate of $250 per course course, amounting to $1,000 total.

As part of the program, starting this fall students will have the opportunity to take lectures on creative coding, theories of media and technology, and media law.

“NYU Tandon’s Integrated Digital Media program provides a wholly unique combination of theory and practice that sets it apart from other digital media offerings,” R. Luke DuBois and Scott Fitzgerald, co-directors of the school’s IDM program, said.

“Our goals are to foster creative practice, design research, and multidisciplinary experimentation with emerging media technologies, and our graduates embody the innovation and creativity that occur when you combine art and technology.”

Upon completing the coursework, students will receive a MicroMasters program certificate and will not be required to submit a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score if they choose to apply for the full the master’s program at the university.
