Three US Universities Come on Top in Times Higher Education Subject Ranking
U.S. universities continue to dominate the Times Higher Education subject ranking with Princeton, Harvard, and Stanford securing top spots in three subjects.
Harvard University has ranked No. 1 in life sciences for the third consecutive year, with an overall Times score of 95.7, while Princeton University has ranked No.1 in physical sciences with an overall score of 96.
The universities were ranked on 13 performance indicators, which were further grouped into five areas – teaching, industry income, citations, research, and international outlook.
In the psychology category, Stanford University has topped with an overall score of 87.5. Stanford is followed by seven other American universities: Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, Harvard, Yale, University of Chicago and University of California, who made their way into top ten of the subject.
In the life sciences category, six U.S universities, including John Hopkins University, secured top ten ranks with an overall score of more than 90.9, while in physical sciences, seven U.S. universities were able to make their mark in top ten ranks.
The latest rankings saw Tsinghua University becoming the first institution in mainland China to be featured in the top 10 of Times Higher Education’s life sciences category.
